Bed Bug Basics

Bed bugs are nocturnal and feed on blood, normally while a person sleeps. Bed bug infestations are not a factor of hygiene, cleanliness, or social class. Where there is a person sleeping; quiet and still; bed bugs will take up residence. Females produce 5 to 7 eggs per week and lay up to 500 in a lifetime! Bed bugs are most easily found by their excrement. Bed bugs defecate “blood spots” that are easily seen by the naked eye.
